Message-ID: <1991Mar21.213216.7993@wolves.uucp> Date: 21 Mar 91 21:32:16 GMT Followup-To: comp.lang.perl Organization: Wolves Den UNIX Lines: 24 X-Checksum-Snefru: 78a7c82c b7dc3a76 b01f7f0c 914b1139 Kudos to Larry on the new version! One small glitch, the Perl4.beta tarset I got from devvax compiled and passed the tests (except for lib/big) and I was happy and ready to start training all the folks to use perl. (This is on the Opus PM428 with G4+ version software - OCS/BCS compatible - Motorola 88100 cpu for those not familiar with Opus.) Then, here is the OFFICIAL 4.0 release. Go to devvax, fetch all the kits and start at the top. Oops - now op/index, op/substr and lib/big all fail! op/index and op/substr fail at test 0. Comparing the codes doesn't show anything that is grossly different in the treatment of index/strchr (at first pass) so I haven't the foggiest idea of where to look next.
