How about a 16-bit compress? (4MB of ram available for EACH program, and we can't compress with 16 bits....*sigh*) Also, I have the source for a 16-bit compress, obtained off plains.nodak.edu, but ACK on the Mac doesn't appear to like a large (>65535) array size.
