the subject pretty much says it. details: i want to

- send text (perhaps graphics) files as faxes
- receive faxes and then OCR(*) them
- scan documents, then fax them and/or OCR them
- print received faxes

on 80[34]86 machines with ISA or EISA bus under Interactive UNIX 2.2.1
(with X Windows, probably needed for OCR'ing?).

the main problem is the OCR software. there are zillions of OCR
packages for DOS, but i haven't seen one for UNIX yet. i
ran around on CeBIT faire and asked on every booth even
resembling like they might have to do something with scanner,
but got always the same result :-(

i've directed followups to comp.dcom.fax, however i'd prefer
email so i can summarize more easily.
