I had heard at a talk about AFS 4.0 that Kerberos version 5 will have a procedural specification for ticket caches which would accomodate, say, in-kernel implementations. I would be interested in receiving a copy of such a spec. After having hacked version 4 MIT-style ticket caches into AFS 3.x Kerberos code, I would be interested in seeing if version 5 fixes what I see as the most important problems with the version 4 ticket cache implementation: the fact that it does not allow replacement of a credential (reauthentication) and does not deal at all well with expiration of credentials. -- _.John G.
