Dear Netlanders,
	A Colleague here in SNI has the following question

1) a 386 PC running windows,
2) Inside windows is a NCSA Telnet emulator to give me vt100/vt220 emulation,
3) beneath windows is a Clarkson university packet driver for the 3c505
4) beneath that ( or alongside it ) is MS-DROS v3.30
5) This little lot is linked to a Targon 31/45 (SNI unix box) via an bit of 50ohm ( CB standard ) coax
6) The targon is then running the other end of telnet (Berkley 4.2 version of TCP/IP)
7) I load up uniplex and use the email interface to the outside world......!


When we try to access the targon it gives the "UNIX V.4 etc......." welcome 
message but drops out before the login prompt appears.

 That is our only problem and it hasppening with the NCSA telnet package running
under windows and with a tottaly different implementation running under DROS.
This leads me to believe that it may be something subtle with the Targon.
 I am open to suggestions provided they don't involve egg whisks as my
insurance doesn't cover me after the last time.
