It is, sad to say, deeply disturbed. Problem #1: It has an HPD15 portrait graphics display with a broken tube. Replacing the tube is a priority, and we have some leads, but more leads couldn't hurt. Problem #2: The most impressive 14" hard drive doesn't spin on power up. Is it self-testing? Is it clearly broken? Is there some magic dance one has to do to wake it up? Problem #3: We don't know the root password. The current sysadmin at the aforementioned college said he would track down the sysadmin who actually knew it. That may fall through though.
