Message-ID: <54240027@hpindwa.cup.hp.com> Date: 20 Mar 91 22:06:48 GMT Organization: HP Info Networks Div/Cupertino CA Lines: 22 I'm working on a GS program that uses lots of resources (windows, icons, controls, etc.) and it takes a noticeable amount of time (6-7 seconds) to load them up when the program starts. Rather than having the naked desktop displayed during this time, I created a title screen. The next step was packing the screen and saving it in a resource so it could be retrieved easily during startup. Looking in the Toolbox Reference Vol. 3 and the Technical Notes, I couldn't find a resource type for this kind of data. This seems like a common use; are there any informal standards? If anyone at Apple is reading...do you plan to define a resource type for packed SHR screens? Until I hear a better idea, I'll use $2000 (in honor of the SHR starting address). -- Dave Tribby - - - - - Mail? Try one of these: tribby@cup.hp.com tribby%hpda@hplabs.HP.COM hplabs!hpda!tribby
