Resource types $1 to $7FFF are for your application's use - you define the format. Your use of $2000 is a nice choice - it doesn't conflict with Apple's reserved range and it makes sense. Even if Apple decides to define such a format, your $2000 will always work and it would take just a second of find/replace to convert your program over to using the new number. Although it would be nice to have Apple define every resource type you are ever going to use in a program, they just can't do it.
