I recently got a ss/dd drive to hook up to the B drive port, and all hell broke loose. Though I have managed to have limited problems with the internal ds/dd, they have been limited. I hope to go inside and clean the connections, but in the meantime, if anyone knows of any reasons why the addition of the extra drive might cause my machine to have distorted data read/write and to give "drive not responding" errors, please let me know. (even when I disconnect the b: and reboot, the internal still gets some errors.) When the b: drive is connected, the a drive tends to read alright with an occasional "... not responding" error, however, when I format the a: drive to 2 sides, disconnect the b: and reboot, the system will not even bring up the full desktop (no icons at all) thanks in advance swood -- ---- Insert favorite .signature here ---- | swood@argo.acs.oakland.edu | swood@vela.acs.oakland.edu Bitnet: swood@Oakland | swood@unix.secs.oakland.edu UUCP: ...!uunet!umich!{vela, argo, unix, nucleus}!swood
