This is really, really strange.  I installed the DMD Core Utilities
on a 3b2/600.  When I tried to reboot after installing, I received 
the dreaded DIAGNOSTICS FAILED.  I booted from firmware, and every-
thing seemed fine.  I then began using a 5620 with 'layers'.  No problems
were noted.  

Now it gets weird.  I finally got a clean reboot (DIAGNOSTICS PASSED).
The 3b2 then booted from /etc/system, and the changes made in the in-
stallation of the DMD utilities took effect.  

Now 'layers' won't work.......it puts up the green background, and 
then promptly hangs.

Suggestions?
