Message-ID: Date: 19 Mar 91 08:47:22 GMT Sender: news@santra.uucp (Cnews - USENET news system) Distribution: comp.sys.ibm.pc.hardware Organization: Helsinki University of Technology, Finland Lines: 22 I'm looking to buy an internal tape drive. If anyone can point me to magazine reviews, give recommondation, or provide other input as to compatibility issues and such it will be very much appreciated. I'm specifically looking for units filling the following requirements: - internal half-height - 150 Mb uncompressed - compatible with Dos and Unix I'd also like to know what kind of controllers are used: custom or SCSI? How about media? Is there a standard? I'm quite confused after looking through mail order add's - there seems to be huge price differences between different manufactures. What's the catch? Also the adds do not mention the controller required and whether it is included in the price. Please email directly - I will summarize if requested. Harri Pasanen
