I then installed the card on a Mac IIcx and the card worked perfectly. (All the appropriate software was installed on both machines.) So, I suspect that my Mac II is the problem. This is a very early machine, purchased shortly after intro in April '87. It must have the "bad" ROMs and probably has the PMMU socket with the missing pins. Could either of these be the problem with the 8*24GC failing to work? If so, will/can an authorized Apple dealer still replace the motherboard for free?
