The switch on the side just flashed the screen (and turned of a few pixels). There was no chime. I turned the Mac off and watched a movie. Afterwards, it booted up, but only after hitting the reset switch, which was now chiming. I immediately backed up the the most important 1440K of data. About 3 hours later, the screen froze again, same problem. I went to bed. This morning it booted up again. I hope it doesn't die before I finish this article. What's wrong with my Mac? Also, I'm concerned that whoever takes a look at it is going to say "Board Swap" when it's just a simple fix. Are the any hardware gurus out there that think they might be able to offer a cheaper solution? Preferably in the Boston or New England area, but I'm not too picky.
