Well, if it's just ascii and text files that you want to transfer, gat the 
right cables and adapters and hook up a "null-modem" setup between the 
serial port on the IBM and the modem port on the Mac. That way you can send 
and recieve via the null modem just as if you were online. 
 
As far as using the 3.5 diskettes, i'm not sure if the mac format and IBM 
format are compatible. Yes, they use the same physical diskette, but they 
store information differently. I doubt you could get that to work without 
some sort of bridgecard.
