When your animation pauses, the computer is paying attention to some other process momentarily. This happens due to "sync"s, daemons, other apps processing in the background and the like. Do not be concerned. If you would like smooth animation on a UNIX machine, an Silicon Graphics IRIS workstation does a very nice job. There is NOTHING WRONG with your NeXT Computer. Be of good cheer.
