To clarify the sitatuation: I've a client (Sun SLC) which runs OpenWindows. Now I'm starting a X11 window at another machine B which runs MIT X11 R4. On the client A this is done with: rsh B exec xterm -display A:0 I've now a MIT X11 window on my screen which runs on machine B. Both machines operate under SunOS 4.0.3. This works almost fine except when I call mail. Every time I'm reading or sending mail the OpenWindows Xnews server on client A consumes a lot of CPU time -- about 30 seconds for reading a 10 lines mail. This means that I`ve have to wait 30 seconds until the mail is displayed. On machine B the mail command uses less then 1 CPU second. And now the funny thing: If a run mail on the same window under a new remote shell which is started on machine B (e.g. rlogin B; mail) all works fine. Since I've no idea what is going wrong any hints are welcome. Thanks in advance Wolfgang Moll
