Message-ID: <1991Mar22.011425.23921@menudo.uh.edu> Sender: usenet@menudo.uh.edu (USENET News System) Nntp-Posting-Host: karazm.math.uh.edu Organization: University of Houston -- Department of Mathematics Date: Fri, 22 Mar 91 01:14:25 GMT First problem: I'm not even sure of the name of the alphabet for which I need a font. I *think* it's "Unifon". It's a phonetic alphabet that has 40-some-odd characters, the point being that you can spell English words phonetically. Second problem: I need a font for this vaguely remembered alphabet. I'd prefer a PostScript font, but I'll live with a metafont or TeX .tfm description. Third problem: Is there any sort of ISO standard alphabet for dealing with pronouncing words? I'm trying to deal with the fact that certain words and names are spelled or pronounced incorrectly (depending on your point of view) and need some way to specify the "right" pronounciation. Email, and I'l summarize for the net. Thanks for any help, -- J. Eric Townsend - jet@uh.edu - bitnet: jet@UHOU - vox: (713) 749-2120 Skate UNIX or bleed, boyo...
