I have two labs composed of ps/2 70 & 80s (MCA) and Compaq 325/3's. The ps/2's have ungermann bass nicps2 ethernet cards and the compaq's have 3com's. My current configuration consists of loading packet drivers, loading modified ipx and net3. Under windows I can access netware, or use ncsa telbin and ftpbin OR wnqvtnet. Everything is relativelly fine, for over 4 months. We want to spend less so I got 4 evaluation machines: Dell 386/33, Compuadd 386/33, PCBrand 386/33, Cumulus 386/33, all with super vga. The Dell, PCBrand and Compuadd have new WD boards in them, and the Cumulus has a 3C501 board. Well, none of these configurations runs my current setup! ughh! I can run novell, and tcpip from DOS, on all of the machines. Cumulus: I can't even run norton si in a dos shell under windows. PCBrand: si comes up and freezes the machine Compuadd: " Dell: si works fine. The Dell runs netware and telbin sometimes, perodically the machine freezes. The Dell and Compuadd both, when I select qctnet icon, do nothing. They don't freeze, they just don't run !@!! Is it the speed, 33mhz! I EMMExclude =everything. Does anyone have this environment working correctly under windows on these machines? This is getting ridiculous. Windows really gets to me at times. I got the IBM and Compaq running excellent with just ethernet address and packet driver info changes to config.tel and qct_tcp.rc. Oh well, I'd appreciate any information. /*----------- Thanks in advance... --------------------------------------+ | Peter C.
