I am using the twm window manager on a DECstation 2100. I like to use the DEC applications dxmail, dxnotepad, and dxcalendar. I am having trouble in trying to customize them as I would like however, since the usual X modifiers don't work in some cases. In particular, on startup I would like dxmail and dxnotepad to be iconified. The only way I can do this at present is by putting a StartIconified statement in my .twmrc file. This has the unfortunate effect that popups (when opening a file for example) also 







start iconified, as do Send windows in mail. With dxcalendar I am unable to set the screen location using a -geometry modifier.

A final problem is how to specify the location of the session manager window.

Any advice gratefully received.
