Message-ID: <1991Mar26.010713.5516@ccu.umanitoba.ca> Date: 26 Mar 91 01:07:13 GMT Organization: University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada Lines: 13 Now that Lantastic is selling its AI/Lanbios package in single node licenses, my brother wants to set up a 2-3 node network in his bussiness. From the looks of it, I can purchase the single license AI packages and a cheap arcnet cards for less than the Lantastic 2Mbit start kits. The only catch is, I've only used Ethernet and know zilch about arcnet. Do I need a hub? Passive hub? I see BUS type and RING type arcnet cards for sale. I am assuming if I buy the bus type cards I can set them up just like an ethernet network and I won't need a hub or any other type of controller? Just run the coax or TP between the two and thats it? How about if I want three or four nodes? Thanks for any help..
