Wirth fans ( like me ;-), I thought those of you not privy to IBMPC-L or the simtel news would like to know an Oberon compiler for the MS-DOS enviornment was uploaded to simtel20: PD:OBERONM.ZIP ( about 134K zip file ). The readme file claims it to be a FULLY functional Oberon compiler following Wirth's definition to the "T". I checked it out, but don't know Oberon well enough to really test it. There are two postscript files ( that I printed ) which offer the syntax of the language and the latest definition of the language by Wirth ( dated 1.10.90 <- no, I don't know if Jan or Oct ). There was no mention in the ZIP file of this being PD or SW. I believe the posting I learned of it from state it was a pre-commercial release ( bug tester maybe? ). tom -- Thomas E.
