The protocol used to talk to the Unix lpd daemon is described
in RFC 1179,  "Line Printer Daemon Protocol", dated August
1990. Check the comp.protocols.tcp-ip newsgroup if you need
more help. (I actually pruned this from a recent request in
comp.protocols.tcp-ip.ibmpc.)
