Some time ago I wrote two packet drivers (for MS DOS!) for the
BICC ISOLAN and ISOLINK controllers. You can obtain them from
the Clarkson archives, the drivers will give you an idea on
how the card is controlled. For the 16-Bit card (I think that's the 
4110-2) the manual which describes the Lance chip is
'Local Area Network Controller Am7990 (Lance)' from
Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
