I imagine that there should be a simple driver program that would interpret the escape sequence and write directly to the screen. Can this be done in a `graphics card' independent way if this needs to be done only with ordinary ascii text files? The reason I want to know is that I wrote a paging program for unix/vms that utilizes ansi escape sequences. I want to port it to DOS but I do not want to rewrite the io routines.
