Message-ID: <1991Mar28.185702.4081@midway.uchicago.edu> Date: 28 Mar 91 18:57:02 GMT Sender: qpfa@midway.uchicago.edu (andrea l morris) Distribution: usa Organization: University of Chicago Lines: 16 I have a DELL 310 on which I am running a copy of OS/2 v 1.1 purchased from DELL and would like to upgrade the operating system. I purchased both OS/2 v 1.0 and v 1.1 from DELL at full price. Before making each purchase I was told that an upgrade would be available at a reduced price, but I was never offered a reduced price. When I brought v 1.1, I was told that no upgrade from v 1.0 was being offered. I do not want to pay full price for another upgrade and would like to buy a generic copy. Probably Microsoft's OS/2 would work best. Does anyone have any experience with running a non-DELL supplied copy of OS/2, either the IBM version or the Microsoft version, on a DELL computer? Is the only difference between the version supplied by Microsoft and the version supplied by DELL the extensions to DOS? Please send any information to qpfa@midway.uchicago.edu. Thank you, Andrea Morris
