Part of the problem is that I am not especialy adept on any system. a) are there some os9 variants around for simple utilites like ping, finger, and other such things? b) can os9 be coaxed into using a nameserver? c) I am having some problems getting to the os9 from outside the local domain. This is odd because the os9 can connect (telnet or ftp) to any valid inet address I give it, but nothing outside the local domain can ping, telnet or ftp to the os9. Is there something I'm missing in my setup? a and b are only annoyances.... I'm more interested in getting some help with c.
