What would be involved in creating a fake spooler for Macintoshes that could appear in the Chooser and would take LaserWriter output and shove it through the GatorBox to a waiting UNIX host? The UNIX host could then send the output back to the printer. This would involve double traffic through the GatorBox, but the advantage is that you would not have to do any spooling on the Macintosh: (i) no need to take up local disk storage for the spool files (ii) no delays in processing during printing, such as PrintMonitor produces Or, you could attach the printer to the UNIX host, in effect producing Macintosh -> UNIX printing, which can't (I think?) be done with GatorPrint. -- Paul DuBois dubois@primate.wisc.edu -- Paul DuBois dubois@primate.wisc.edu
