Summary: TCP/IP and XINU OS (should be x-posted to comp.os.xinu) Message-ID: <1991Mar24.215125.14980@ibmpcug.co.uk> Date: 24 Mar 91 21:51:25 GMT Organization: The IBM PC User Group, UK. Lines: 35 We create applications for systems running a real-time operating system very closely based on XINU. We are now interested in "opening" up the systems, by linking to networks using media such as Ethernet, and also by providing X-Windows graphical interfaces (see following article). For this, it seems TCP/IP is crucial. We have studied "Internetworking with XINU" carefully, and would like to know if anyone has fully implemented TCP for XINU. Is there an evolving body of XINU-based TCP software somewhere? Does anyone who has implemented TCP have any words of wisdom for how long it would take to get a fast version up and running for our real-time applications? How big is the executable code? How much processing power would it take (approximately, 16 bit 68000).
