I've been having problems with my A3000 since I decided to put in a second drive. The second harddrive I put in was a seagate, and I had problems such as the drive not working wen I turned on the machine, or having to reboot the machine after a cold boot to get the drive to automount. finally, my seagate just wouldn't work anymore. I just received a quantum prodrive lps in the mail today and installed it. The problem I was having with having to reboot after a coldboot to get the drive to come up has gone away. It works just like it is supposed to. I received no documentation with the quantum as to what jumper positions are, so I had to just assume everything was right and didn't bother messing with them. I have my boot drive, the quantum that came with the machine, as lun 0 address 0. The quantum lps is lun 0 address 6. I hope we can figure out what is going on with the other people who are having problems with their systems...
