We installed NCAR graphics version 3.00 in March 1990 on our apollos.
The changes were sent to NCAR and they were made available via anonymous
ftp from bierstadt.scd.ucar.edu (internet address = 128.117.8.10 ).

ftp> pwd
257 "/pub/ncarg/unix3.00/Apollo" is current directory.

Get these files , read the file BeginHere first. Untar the file
changes.tar in an appropriate location. Read the file more.changes and
the file README.

These changes were done so that NCAR graphics version 3.00 would
compile and run on apollos at SR10.2 . I can't say anything about NCAR
graphics version 3.01. We should be getting it soon now. 
We haven't had any problems yet with NCAR graphics version 3.00.
I also recommend GPLOT, a CGM previewer (it creates better postscript
files than ctrans) which you can get from calpe.psc.edu ( 128.182.66.148 ).
