Last night, the drive cable worked loose from the back of the machine while it was on (I'd moved the machine and forgot to rescrew the cables), and now drive 1 always spins whenever the machine is on. It seems to work despite this, but drive 2 doesn't work at all; drive 1 still spins while I'm accessing drive 2, and apparently there's not enough power for both drives to spin up at once. The dealer, of course, refuses to even look at a IIGS in any context other than a motherboard swap. Is anyone out there familiar with this problem, and is it something that can be fixed without swapping the motherboard? Please respond by email; I'll summarize if there's interest. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. -- Internet: phaedrus@u.washington.edu (University of Washington, Seattle) The views expressed here are not those of this station or its management.
