I realize that the LAN and Serial 2 are run by the same _chip_, but what about physical ports themselves: If you have a VME card, you lose the Serial1 and Serial 2 connectors: But does that also mean that you lose the LAN connector as well? Or are you just refering to the connector with all the modem signals (except RI)? If you lose the LAN too, that would be a silly thing to do: you can either hook yourself into a network OR you can use , but you can't use both.
