Sometimes the problems experienced with a 1541
are not always due to misalignment or a defective
component.

My C64 is in the lower level of a raised ranch type house.
Until recently when I had the house air conditioned, my 1541 would 
refuse to read my disks on damp days. If I left the 1541 cook
for about 20 to 30 minutes to dry out, it worked perfectly.
