I think my first message didn't make it, so I'll try again. I am new to managing my own Ultrix 4.1 VaxStation II/RC; maybe someone can help me set up a printer port. I did Makedev /dev/ttycp, and now use the console port in the back of the workstation as a modem port, connected to a DEC Scholar 2400 modem. I use kermit, and everything works fine. I am wondering if I can also use the same physical port (by simply switching cables) as a printer port for an LA100. Can this be done, or will setting it up as a printer port cause me to not be able to use the modem any more? If it can be done, where should I look (I have minimal documentation) as regards setting up the printer port? DecWrite for one complains that I am missing a "printer description file". What utility should I use to configure the port? Thanks in advance. Mike Levin (mlevin@jade.tufts.edu)
