I'm not sure speaking about it, becouse the fact that you haven't specified the type of Battery (on matherboard, external, Lithium, Alcaline).
A lot of matherboard can use many different type of battery, and if you have problem with one, you can change it.
Some time the re-charger will not work after years of well-known work.
So, you can only try with a non-rechargeable battery pack.
