The reason for this is that the InterNet gang finally deactivated the old Arpanet addresses (and MilNet ones, too, I think). The SIMTEL20 machine/site still exists and has lots of goodies. Try wsmr-simtel20.army.mil (that's the current InterNet address) - I don't know the InterNet node number address, but then again, you shouldn't need it. And some forward into the 80s, at least!
