I got a number of replies to the effect that not only there was not a limit on the number of fonts, but that there NEVER HAD BEEN. I found this more than a little surprising, since my original reason for purchasing Suitcase was to get access to more fonts (I've never been a big DA fan). So I did a little checking, and found that in fact the limit was 20, not 15, and the limit was actually on the number of items in a menu. For the programs I used at the time, this of course meant that only 20 of the installed fonts were available. This limit went away when scrolling menus were introduced. (Trivia question: Which System introduced scrolling menus?) So to everyone who told me there had never been a limit on the number of fonts: You're right in theory, but in practice the limit was 20. Finally, there is general agreement that Suitcase is still of some use, since it allows you to organize your fonts into suitcases, thus reducing System Folder clutter. That's nice, I guess, but not something I'd pay money for. It also allows installation of sounds and FKEYs, but I have better utilities for that.
