Hello,

    A novice here (me) is trying to make Maclayers running. I am
    not a system administrator and I would prefer not bothering
    them for this program.

    I can run Maclayers from my MacPlus without problem. I compiled
    the programs on this Sun 4/280 without problem. I can use the 
    layertitle without problem. However, when I type the following
    at the system prompt:

    % layers


    The MacPlus beeps, and a dialogue comes up on the MacPlus saying:



    Encode Status not Received from Host






Questions:

    * What can I do to remedy the above situation? Can an ordinary user





    run this program?






    * The arrow keys on the MacPlus keyboard do not work within vi





    (I am using h, j, k, l). How can I make them work?







    * I am aware of another program, uw, which is of the same nature.





    Is uw easier to use than maclayers?
