for all those people stuck after answering the Sphinx's riddle.

Having played the game a VERY long time ago (7 years?) I cannot remember
the exact clues to this bit, but there were indications the one had to
enter the room at the center of the first level alone.

You must choose a single character (I don't think class matters), equip
him(/her?) with all the KOD equipment, then enter the room.

There is a fight with someone - I think? My memories about this matter are
somewhat dim.
