Malone) Newsgroups: comp.sys.mac.system Subject: Problem with TrueType & MacLabel Pro Summary: PostScript text prints as grey Keywords: TrueType, PostScript, MacLabel Pro Message-ID: <1991Mar26.142503.3587@athena.mit.edu> Date: 26 Mar 91 14:25:03 GMT Sender: news@athena.mit.edu (News system) Organization: Massachusetts Institute of Technology Lines: 16 I've discovered another program that seems to be slightly incompatible with TrueType: Avery's MacLabel Pro 1.0. The symptom is that text printed (to PostScript printers at least, that's all that I have) is 50% gray instead of black. On-screen the text looks black, but it comes out gray when printed. The problem only seems to occur with MacLabel Pro documents created while TrueType is installed -- documents created when TrueType is not installed are not affected, and can be printed normally. So far, I have found no way to repair MacLabel Pro documents that exhibit this behavior, other than recreating them from scratch without TrueType. Of course, I have no way of knowing whose "fault" this problem is. I'll be calling Avery about the problem this afternoon -- I have to wait for those West-coast folks to have their morning coffee. --Stuart A. Malone samalone@athena.mit.edu
