When logged in as root do the following: # dwrite GLOBAL HostName localhost Important: use localhost and NOT your hosts name. localhost is treated as a special case. As long as your machine does not have a name, it gets a default name localhost, AFTER you name your machine, localhost works at almost all places like a variable for your hosts actual name. => you don't have to change all the settings just because you renamed your machine.
