In my prior environment I used SGI IRIS 2400T hardware, and I am currently considering getting SGI 310 GTX system. However, the rest of my computing environment consists of a moderate network of SPARC stations and the corresponding support. SUN is supposed to start shipping soon a new graphics accelerator board with SPARC 2 that they call GT. The SPARC 2 hardware with a GT accelerator looks promissing, but I am not sure how to make the comparison since I have no experince with any graphics accelerator hardwarte from SUN nor with 4D/310/GTX. Any advise of how to compare these two machines will be appreciated. Thanks, in advance. -Misha Pavel Center for Neural Science New York University
