occam toolset .dsc files

Every time it is run the occam toolset configurer produces a seemingly
undocumented file with the extension .dsc which we have for some time
been using as an input to various other utilities.

1  Does anybody know where to find the full format description of this
file?

2  Does anybody know whether the new version of the occam toolset to
come out next month, IMSD5205-1, will retain this file and with the
same format?

3  What is this file really meant to be used for?
