Message-ID: <1991Mar26.182037.18477@axis.dsg.ti.com> Date: 26 Mar 91 18:20:37 GMT Sender: news@axis.dsg.ti.com (System News Administ) Reply-To: alan.fisch@hub.dsg.ti.com Organization: Texas Instruments, Austin, Tx. Lines: 17 I am interested in the behavior of O_SYNC on specific UNIX platforms. For years I have understood that O_SYNC has been broken in the System V code AT&T licenses to its vendors, and few vendors have made any changes to it. Thus, using O_SYNC did not actually provide the synchronous write expected. With most System V implementation up to Release 3, I believe the problems to be fixed. Any definitive information you have about specific platforms (both Sys V and BSD) would be of great use in some research I am doing. Please respond via Email and I will post a summary. Thanks in advance for the information. Regards, Alan M. Fisch please reply to : alan.fisch@hub.dsg.ti.com
