It seems like everyone is switching to UNIX systems. I don't relly like computers but I have to make a living -- so maybe I should start learning UNIX. I have been using VMS. Maybe there is a book out there that maps VMS commands to UNIX commands as much as such a thing is possible. Also, where the heck do the UNIX command makers get their command names (awk???? grep???) Are they just being intentionally obtuse? Anyway, I have to learn this stuff. Im not very computer literate and I need help. Any responses would be greatly appreciated. You don't have to answer here - maybe just repond via EMAIL. Sorry if this is the wrong news group for this kind of thing. I couldn't think of a better place to ask.
