	I do this quite often.  To go from Word for windows to MS-Word on
the Mac, save the file in Word for DOS format.  You do this by selecting the
options button of the Save as...dialog box.  Then use Apple file exchange
to ttransfer the file to the Mac.  It should now be usable in MS-Word on the
Mac.  To go the other way.  Save the Mac document as Rich Text Format and
use apple file exchange to write this on a DOS disk which can then be 
imported into Word for Windows using the RTF filter.  This is the  ONLY
way that I foud of reliably transfering between the two systems.
