I'd like us to run xdm, for various reasons. My question is, in the same way that getty switches modes (case sensitive/ insensitive) when it sees control-D or an uppercase letter, couldn't xdm switch servers? I'm thinking of, in the "servers" file, a list of startup lines, rather than just one. Some feedback in the window as to which server is running would be necessary. When control-D or some such is typed at it, it would take down the current server and run the next on the list, cycling through. Has anyone done this? Does anyone see any problems that might arise? Would anyone else find this useful? John Bazik jsb@cs.brown.edu
