I am also aware of FAQ 28 where a whole lot of commercial X server packages are mentioned. What I would like to know is whether there exist any public domain X servers for a PC running MS-DOS (PS/2 mod. 55, 2MB) I have seen two demonstrations of X servers running under Windows 3 and quite like what I see, but would like to try X from home without having to invest my own money in software without knowing how well it will work in my case. Does a public domain TCP/IP package with SLIP exist for the PC? (While asking these questions, is there anyone out there who knows where I can get something called InterDrive from? Or know about other NFS software for the PC?) I would also be very grateful if people who have tried it could let me know how well it works to run Xwindows over a 9600 baud phone line using SLIP. 99% of my time is spent either in xterm, mail tools and editors, connected to a VAX and Sun network. Thanks in advance, Ove Hansen (hansen@scr.slb.com) PS: No, I don't want to run Unix unless I can do so without buying an extra disk and still keep all my DOS applications alive.
