I have been thinking of adding buttons to the xdm window for options like:

Server:  xnews
         MIT X11R4

Window Manager:
         olwm
         mwm
         twm
         vtwm

Then xdm could move some files around and fire up the right server.

But hey, if someone is going to implement a better idea, I'll wait.
