Hi,

   I would be interested in knowing if any performance studies exist 
that would give me a feel for the load imposed on a network by the transfer
of graphics oriented data between an X-client and an X-server when they 
are on different platforms.  We are envisioning a network of diskless
SUN workstations or other UNIX workstations connected to a fairly large 
SUN fileserver.  We would essentially be treating the workstations as
X-terminals where the the X-server is running at the workstation with the
X-clients running on the fileserver.  Any information or experiences would
be greatly appreciated.
